The AS Recycling Program was founded by students in May 1996 and has expanded since to include:
- Over 1,800 recycling receptacles, collecting nearly 600,000 pounds of paper, beverage containers, food waste and other recyclables annually
- Student internships focused on educational outreach around issues of recycling and waste reduction
- Free school supplies and free Reuse Store
- Recycle used batteries, CDs, print cartridges and more
